Cabrieres D'Avignon is a well preserved village, its character kept intact by the dry stone wall buildings which line its narrow streets. The honey coloured stone walls and old wooden doors hide many splendidly landscaped inner courtyards. There is 12th century castle with a grim history, old wash houses, a church, and many bories (dry stone shepherds houses).
The house is a 5 minute walk to the centre of Cabrieres with its baker and a well stocked grocery shop , library, post office and ‘Mairie’ and 2 restaurants.
Cabrieres has all the advantages of being within the Luberon National Park yet not being overwhelmed by tourists. It ís a sleepy village in a sunny south facing position towards the Luberon Mountains.
There are walking trails from our doorstep, lavender fields nearby, tennis courts, an 18 hole golf course, horse riding, canoeing and hot air ballooning. Also, for children there is a nearby tree top adventure park, a snail park, caves to explore, river trips from Avignon plus many other activities for those lovers of culture.
